I am very fond of places like the subway—here in the Metro in Melbourne—where there is often the opportunity to take pictures of a great combination of people and reflect them in windows, glasses, and mirrors.

When we look at photographs, they sometimes offer us a scene that seems to break reality, and it takes us a moment to process what our eyes see.

It is like a mind game, a labyrinth. The answer by itself is not so important, but what matters is to ask the question and consider that our senses can be fooled, and reality is not always as it appears… just like being in the Cave of the Platonic Myth. Appearances are all around. Knowing this is the first step, as it gives us perspective about our certainty.
