General Conditions

Eligibility
The Philo-Photo Photography Competition is open to professional and amateur photographers from all over the world. Anyone over 18 years of age can enter the competition, with the exception of organizers of the Philo-Photo Photography Awards. Judges are not permitted to enter the competition. By registering for and entering the Philo-Photo Photography Competition you hereby accept these Terms and Conditions.

To enter, you must upload your Entry at the website PhiloPhoto.org, following the on-screen instructions carefully. By entering the Competition, you agree and acknowledge that Philo-Photo Photography Competition is permitted to receive your registration data. Philo-Photo Photography Competition may publish any material you submit, post, upload, email or otherwise transmit to it or to the website at its sole discretion and it shall be entitled to make additions or deletions to any such material prior to publication. Any image/photograph submitted to the competition may be used by Philo-Photo Photography Competition, and its media, for marketing and promotional purposes of the competition only. You hereby grant Philo-Photo Photography Competition a non-exclusive, irrevocable license for each Entry throughout the world in all media for any use in connection with the competition. All awarded Entries will be published online on ___________________
By submitting an entry to Philo-Photo Photography Competition, entrants certify that their participation in this Competition is not illegal or in violation of any law, regulation, treaty or administrative act, and that the laws of their governing jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry do not prohibit or restrict the receipt of any prize under this Competition.

The following submissions are ineligible:
Images of captive animals photographed in zoos and commercial game farms.
Photos that violate or infringe upon another person’s rights, including but not limited to copyright and photographs of persons without the necessary consent required by law in your jurisdiction. The Jury team reserves the right to require entrants to submit evidence of the subject’s legal consent to be photographed for the submitted photograph, which may include a signed waiver from the subject or the subject’s legal guardian or representative. NOTE: Waiver requirements vary by jurisdiction, and the entrant is responsible for obtaining a legally enforceable waiver from any photographed subject.

Photos that contain sexually explicit, nude, obscene, violent, or other objectionable or inappropriate content.
Images created by or with the assistance of generative artificial intelligence tools.
Images that involve the wilful harassment of wildlife.
Images taken that cause or caused damage to the environment by the photographer; this includes taking photos from areas where human presence is restricted by authorities or relevant property managers.
Images that involve putting any individual or animal in danger.
The Jury shall determine entry eligibility at its sole and absolute discretion.

Reservation of Rights
New Acropolis reserves the right to reject any entry if, at New Acropolis’s sole discretion, the laws of an applicable jurisdiction, including but not limited to the entrant’s jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry, would prohibit or limit New Acropolis from proceeding with the Competition as intended or the consideration or awarding of any prize would impose additional administrative, tax, operational, or legal burdens on New Acropolis.

The number of individual images each artist may submit is three, and the fee for uploading each image is detailed on the site. Cancellation policy is according to Israel Consumer Protection Law. Images that have won prizes in other competitions or that have been submitted in other competitions currently underway are eligible. There is no time or date restriction on when the image was taken.

Files must meet the following specification:
– sRGB or Adobe98 colour space, 8-bit;
– Longest dimension: 1100 pixels;
– Saved as a JPG;
– No Watermarks / Copyright Units / Logos on images;
– Only bleed photographs without borders;
– maximum image size 1.5 MB

Winning Entrants must be able to provide a high resolution digital file (minimum 3000px wide@300dpi) and may be asked for the original RAW file (or files). This file will be used only to prove the ownership of the image. Winning Entrants who do not fulfill these eligibility criteria will be deemed ineligible and disqualified without the right to appeal. All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. We accept images made using photographic techniques (camera, smart phone device). The entrant must be the sole copyright owner of all photographs entered and must have obtained permission from any persons featured in the entries (or their parents/guardians if children under 18 are featured). Further, the entrant must not have breached any laws when taking their photographs. Winners’ names and images will be published online.

Copyrights
Copyright of the images will remain at all times with the photographer. For awarded images, copyright holders grant the Philo-Photo Photography unlimited non-exclusive use of high-resolution images for activities in all media, including social media, online and print, in relation to the Competition and all promotional activities without any remuneration being due. Copyright holders of all awarded images grant the Philo-Photo Photography Awards non-exclusive use of low-resolution pictures on our website, without any remuneration being due. Images will be used strictly in connection to the awards and will not be used for any other marketing purposes other than to promote the Philo-Photo Photography Awards. Images will not be resold or used by any other third party. If there is a request for such, we will forward that request to the photographer via e-mail. To promote winners of the Philo-Photo Photography Awards, the right is granted to display images on social media websites (on our official profiles) including: Facebook and Instagram. You agree to participate in related publicity and to the use of your name and images for the purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity in connection with the competition without additional compensation. Philo-Photo Photography Awards and its media partners assume no responsibility and are not liable for any image misuse by external third parties.

Prizes
There will be three winners in the competition, a first winner, a second winner and a third winner. The first prize will be US$1200, the second prize US$900, and the third prize US$600, which will be paid via bank transfer. The prizes can be chosen from several prizes whose value is equal to the amount of the cash prize. Any fees incurred for foreign currency transfers will be deducted from the winning amount.

Evaluation Criteria
Entries will be judged by nominated judges. Images will be judged on the expression of the subject of the Philo-Photo Photography Competition on the basis of merit, originality and style. A link to the criteria is attached.
The decision of the panel of judges of Philo-Photo Photography Awards is final.
There will be two stages in the Competition: in the first stage the Jury will choose the XXXX best images; in the second stage the Jury will choose the 3 winners.

Disputes
You agree that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with the Philo-Photo Photography Competition or any prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in Israel. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Competition Rules, your rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of Sponsors in connection with the Photography Competition, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Israel, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of Israel or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than Israel.
